Last night we played at Rhewl Community Hall, to raise some money for the Hall itself.
The hall has been built in recent years and is proving to be a real bonus for the local community. It has it's own bar, kitchen, other amenities and bags of parking space for visitors.
Like last week, we in the band were concerned that the space may be echo-ey, but again, like last week, once it had filled up with bodies it sounded great.
The show opened with Alan Thomson and his sister Linda Griffith who did a selection very tasty songs, some written by Alan and other covers. Great stuff.
Then TDH went on and did a set which attempted a variety of songs and styles. Ranging from rock, blues, country, to ballads and some novelty songs (such as Oliver and Hardy classics)! All good fun.
A break, and then we repeated the format of the first half. We ended with an encore, in which Alan and Linda, plus some audience members, joined us on stage. As, they say,..... variety is the spice of life.
