Many thanks to our friends in Llandegla and Bryneglwys, who firstly invited the TDH band to come along and play at their fund-raising event on Saturday evening, but then also turned out in numbers to make it such a jolly event! Maybe I have a cautious streak but I usually assume something will go wobbly at any given gig, but in fact everything turned out to be great. Great people, good food and drink, and lots of decent music and singing. (Plus, I understand £624.95p was raised for the local community church).
Thanks go to John Rogers, a local guitar virtuoso, who played some lovely, stirring rock-based guitar work and sang some excellent songs. And thanks also to Penni Neale who played next. Penni is a genuine class act, who pleased everyone by singing and playing songs which ranged from humour to touching sentiment, and which carried a really nice jazzy feel. Barry Evans is always terrific as a humorous raconteur, and as MC, he rolled the evening along at just the right pace, and even managed to get in a few wonderful songs himself.
As for us, the boys in the band, we all had a great time. It's always fun to play to a jolly and enthusiastic crowd of people, and so once again - thanks for the invitation.
